Cornino is a well known seaside resort that is recently been awarded with the "blue flag" from the European community. Here you may enjoy sea excursions with wonderful beaches and cristal blue waters or hiking in the many trails surrounded by nature. "Mangiapane's" cave is not far from us. Every year here takes place the live "presepe" with the representation of the old crafts as well as suggestive representations of hall music.

Custonaci is also near. Here you'll find the "Matrice" an old cathedral all decorated with precious marbles coming from the local caves from which comes the famous "PERLATO".

In this cathedral is kept an old 15th century painting showing "The Virgin Mary and Child" particulary venerated by the local population.

The festivities in her honor take place every year in the week preceding the last Wednesday of August.

The following Monday after sunset takes place the "sbarco della Madonna" the arrival of the "Virgin Mary", rapresented on a 15th century painted board, from the sea on fisherman boat in "Cala Buguto" bay.

The boat that carries the "Virgin Mary" is followed by many others fisherman's boats creating a sort of "sea procession".

Once the landing took place a fireworks show marks the beginning of the "land procession" where the Sacred board is then carried on shoulder up to the sanctuary.

Monte Cofano an isolated peak that seems floating on the sea, is home to native vegetations, an ancient cave with prehistoric traces, a small chapel, a marble board from the 16th century, a "Tonnara", a tower and various military structures from various time periods. It is possible to reach the top (659mt a.s.l.) using the many trails a long the way.

For mountain bike and hiking lovers, it will also be possible to take a trip on the "Monte Cofano lungomare".
